Among all the activities, the Italian Snam Rete Gas also manages several storage site. Storage is useful in all cases in which problems in the process of gas distribution may occur due to, for example, reduction and interruption of provisions from abroad. Gas is stored in underground deposits where years ago there were old natural deposits that are now completely empty and where gas is periodically fed and extracted.
