Titanium tubes
Tecra hasn’t got titanium tubes at stock, but it supplies them only on request.
Titanium is often combined with other elements to make it resistant as steel, but compared to it, it is 40% lighter. Pure or alloyed, titanium preserves its strengh and its excellent resistance to corrosion. For this reason, it is usually tied to other elements to be used for several applications modifying the alloy composition depending on the use of the alloy itself.
Titanium is classified in different groups according to the specific characteristics.
The most common are as follows:
- Pure titanium - grade 1 is very light and it is frequently used for tubes, in biomedical, marine and chemical industries and in desalination plants;
- Pure titaniumm - grade 2 is used on offshore oil rigs, in the biomedical, chemical and petrochemical industry;
- Pure titanium - grade 3, is used for example in chemical, aircraft and aerospace industries, for offshore oil rigs and for tubes.
Then, there are titanium grade 7, 9 etc that are titanium alloys used always in the same fields of the previous ones depending on the specific situations.
Generally speaking, thanks to its characteristics it is often used in the aerospace, chemical, petrochemical, biomedical industries and in outdoor environments where the risk of erosion and corrosion caused by natural chemical substances is very high.
