Nickel monel pipes
MONEL 400 - MONEL K500
alloy of nickel and copper
Monel is an alloy of nickel and copper that belongs to nickel alloys category. The most frequent type is MONEL 400 (nickel 67 % max. and copper 32% max.).
Its main properties are: good resistance to corrosion, high mechanical resistance up to 550°C and good weldability. It is also characterized by good ductility and thermal conductivity.
It is used for different applications such as marine and chemical systems where exposure to adversative substances (flourine and oxigen) is constant and in all alkaline and acid environments. It is suitable for cold processing.
Applications: oilgas, naval, chemical, petrochemical, hydrocarbon processing, heat exchangers, storage tank and coatings.
There is also MONEL K500 that is created adding aluminium and small quantities of titanium that give it a more mechanical resistance compared to monel 400.
MOST COMMON NICKEL ALLOYS:
NICKEL ALLOY 625 OR INCONEL 625
alloy or nickel-chromium and molybdenum superalloy
NICKEL ALLOY 825 OR INCOLOY 825
