Fittings

In a pipe system, fittings are a crucial element because they are used to link tubes and let them change direction or even change the diameter of the tube itself to reduce or increase its flow rate. Unlike tubes, fittings are designed to withstand higher pressure.

It is extremely important to properly know the features of tubes and of the associated fittings and make the right choice depending on the application which the fitting component must be used for, especially plants at high risk that required high levels of security. This is the case, for example, of petrochemical, on/off shore, naval and energy field.

The most frequently used materials are carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminuim, copper, etc. Each material has its own advantages. The choice of the proper fitting depends on the material and the final use.

Generally speaking, it is a good practice to use the same material both for tubes and for fittings to guarantee a better performance of the plant.
