DUPLEX TUBES
Duplex steel is a particular kind of steel which belongs to austenitic-ferritic grades due to the fact that it consists of two phases. For this reason, it has got properties of both austenitic steels and ferritic ones.
Its main characteristics are: a higher mechanical strength and resistance to stress corrosion cracking than austenitic steels, a good level of ductility; a high corrosion resistance. It keeps their shininess over time so that it is frequently used in the construction field.
Easily to weld and to work.
Furthermore, It is widely used in the structural field to built bridges and marine and submarine structures, in all places and environments subject to corrosive agents such sea water, to realize pipeline ,on offshore oil rigs and even in chemical and petrochemical plants and in paper and food industry.
Furthermore, it is also used to manufacture heat exchangers, tubes for liquid and gas transportation, sea water refrigeration unit, desalinators, water systems and hydroelectric plant turbines.
SUPERDUPLEX TUBES
Superduplex steel is only a sort of upgrade of duplex steel. In fact it has got the same properties even if they have been strenghened. Thanks to the presence of a higher level of chromium, molybdenum and nickel.
For these reasons, it is widely used in highy corrosive contexts such as chemical and oilgas industry, offshore oil rigs and water treatment plants.
